‘Elementary’ season 3 spoilers: How many episodes will we have?

The latest -The bad news for all “Elementary” fans is that the show is not going to be coming on the air until Thursday, October 30. The good news? You will still get plenty of stories from Jonny Lee Miller and company this season.

According to a new report from TVLine, there is going to be “at least 20” episodes in the upcoming season, and the number may end up ballooning to a little more than that depending on what happens in the schedule. The show really is losing five weeks that it would typically have for new episodes, and given that its typical order is around 24, this does make sense.

Ultimately, our feeling is that you should give the show around 21 or 22, that way you can fill up some of those weeks in early April that are usually repeats with new episodes. You really can’t go further than that, though, mostly because CBS does have other things to schedule on Thursdays later in the year. After all, you have to remember here is that there is going to be an NCAA Basketball Tournament later this year, and that always preempts some things for the network in March.

Hopefully, this delay will mean that there is some more time for all parties involved to come up with the perfect stories. Season 2 certainly ended on an interesting note, and with Sherlock returning with a new assistant in Kitty Winter, the first few episodes will create an interesting series of stories in New York City.
