‘Bones’ season 10 premiere shocker: Is Sweets, Booth, or Angela gone for good?

Bones -Going into Thursday night’s season 10 premiere of “Bones,” we have to say that there was one thing we almost certainly did not expect to see: The death of a major character. That was not something that had been set up or hyped like it had with “Chicago Fire,” and what we were further expecting was a story that would focus mostly on Bones getting out of prison.

However, that was not the case, and we’re here now having to look at a series moving forward that does not include Sweets. We’re still trying to get over the fact that the character was killed off in a desperate moment in the episode, even if he died heroically and for the good of the other characters.

The main reason we never saw this coming is simple enough: It did not seem to be the original plan. Remember when Laura Spencer was cast on the show? We heard that she was going to be back this season, and would split time between the Fox series and “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS. In hearing this, you would very much imagine that this would in turn mean that Sweets was going to live. Then, there was the notion of Daisy’s pregnancy, and what this could mean for the character’s future. (The moment we found out they were back together, we knew that Spencer’s role was probably dissipating.)

We’re going to have more on why this shocker happened in just a few moments, but for now, it’s hard to even concentrate on the rest of the episode, even if Booth is in a better place than he was in the first place. John Francis Daley was a part of the show for seven years, and that is a very long time for any series. He will be greatly missed.
