‘Sherlock’ season 4: Andrew Scott talks fanfiction; coy on scripts
There are certain series out there that tend to bring out the fanatic in many who watch them … and then there is “Sherlock.” When it comes to fanfiction and pure enthusiasm surrounding a series, few come close to what the BBC has figured out here.
With that being said, that doesn’t quite mean that many of the stars of the show pick up and take a look at some of the content that is produced about them. For example, just take a look at Andrew Scott. Speaking in a new interview with the BBC Radio, he had the following to say about what happens when fans send him fanfiction regarding some of the characters:
“No, I don’t even read it. I get sent some fan mail and stuff, but I don’t read the fanfiction … I don’t think it’s that strange, I just think people do what they want to do. I think it’s a little strange [when you send it to the person].”
Scott (who is currently on a press tour for his new movie “Pride”) also went on to be extremely coy about whether or not he has seen a script for the upcoming fourth season (which includes a Christmas Special). It’s possible that he has, but one thing we do know right now is that he certainly does not want to be one to ruin the fun for everyone.
Hopefully, we will get some more news related to the show a little later in the year, but for now, we’ll just have to keep on waiting for a little while longer.
