‘Agents of SHIELD’ premiere spoilers: ‘Agent Carter’s’ Hayley Atwell to premiere
ABC is wasting almost no time at all when it comes to conjuring up effective ways to promote the new season of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” and also “Agent Carter” at the same time. After all, they have just cast Hayley Atwell to make at least a cameo appearance in the show’s September 23 premiere.
For the time being, most of the details surrounding Atwell’s role in “Shadows” are being kept under wraps, and it is pretty easy to figure out why. After all, this is a woman who would theoretically probably need a thorough makeup job like she did in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” if she wanted to turn up here given the difference in time periods. That is also why anything that happens in “Agent Carter” cannot impact the present-day mythology of any Marvel product too much, unless this is somehow a secret that managed to be buried for several decades.
In addition to this casting, ABC was kind enough to also release the following synopsis from the premiere:
“Coulson and his team are now wanted fugitives with limited resources — but that’s not stopping them from keeping the world safe from powerful and unseen threats everywhere. However, with new members they hardly know, will S.H.I.E.L.D. ever be trusted again?”
One of the other surprising members of the guest cast for this episode is ABC’s own George Stephanopoulos, which shows once again that the producers are really trying to attach this to the real world in just about every way that they can.
