ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Body of Proof’ alum to be (new) First Daughter
There is some new casting in the world of “Scandal” … though in many ways, this is also old casting.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Mary Mouse of “Body of Proof” fame has been brought on to play the role of the President and Mellie Grant’s daughter Karen on at least one upcoming episode of the series this October. This is a change after Madeline Carroll was forced to drop due to scheduling issues. This sort of thing does tend to happen fairly often with young actors, if for no other reason than that they have other things going on, and the show only casts them for tiny parts that they cannot rely on for future work. This is something that we especially see happen often with “Game of Thrones,” given that their actors also have to consider travel arrangements.
We hope for some good things to come in Karen’s direction moving forward, if for no other reason than that she may be the only person within this entire Grant family with a decent shot of actually being able to move forward and be happy. This show aired one of the darkest finales we’ve ever seen this past spring, given the fact that we basically watched the death of Fitz’s son due to the actions of Rowan.
The new season of “Scandal” premieres on ABC on Thursday, September 25, and now that you ahve introduced the First Daughter, we do imagine that we will be seeing more of her.
