‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8 spoilers: How Kaley Cuoco’s Penny will see story unfold
You have heard bits and pieces most likely of the Penny story for “The Big Bang Theory” season 8 over the past few weeks, but now, we’ve got most of the finer details in the span of one article.
What’s going to happen with the character? It starts first and foremost with a reminder the there may be no hurry to marry her off to Leonard, despite the couple’s recent engagement. Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Steven Molaro discussed this subject by saying the following:
“I can’t say for sure [a wedding will not happen this season], but I doubt it. They’re in a great place. They’re the kind of couple where they can be engaged for a while and that’s fine.”
Instead, the story is going to shift more to Penny’s professional career, and how an opportunity may get her away from her dream of acting that she has had since the very beginning of the show:
“In the first episode back [on Sept. 22], she will embark on a brand new career, and that will be taking up a lot of her time and energy … Bernadette has helped to get her a job as a pharmaceutical sales rep at her company. She is going to put her failed acting career on the backburner for a while.”
We hope that this turns out to be an interesting story for Kaley Cuoco to play, mostly because we’re honestly still unsure about it. While Penny is making more money, it’s not what she has always wanted. Maybe we’re thinking from an idealistic point of view, though, that we want to see her acting career become a success. Then again, it is still possible that she comes back to that, or this career somehow opens a door for her that she would have never seen coming beforehand.
