‘Doctor Who’ season 8, episode 2 preview: ‘Into the Dalek,’ and Peter Capaldi’s new challenge
Today “Doctor Who” season 8 officially premiered on BBC One (or anywhere else you live), and we are now getting set for what will hopefully be an exciting rest of the season, as well!
So what is coming up next week? An episode that will bring back some very beloved members of the show family: The Daleks. Rarely is an enemy so embraced, even with such a tiny vocabulary. They will play a central role in the story as The Doctor and Clara work together to save a tiny ship from a whole army of these nefarious foes. You can see the complete synopsis below, complete with Peter Capaldi’s character answering some significant questions for himself:
“A Dalek fleet surrounds a lone rebel ship, and only the Doctor can help them now… with the Doctor facing his greatest enemy, he needs Clara by his side. Confronted with a decision that could change the Daleks forever he is forced to examine his conscience. Will he find the answer to the question, am I a good man?”
If we were to have one major criticism of the first episode of the season, it is that the show spent a great deal of time in a story that was all over the place. This appears on the surface to be much more concise, and thanks to that, we are far more excited to see what happens. Plus, Daleks! There is nothing more signature to the franchise than this. Also, the promo that aired after tonight’s episode featured Twelve calling the Dalek ship one of the most dangerous parts of the universe.
