‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2 spoilers: Adrianne Palicki gets another chance to be super
Remember that brief attempt by NBC to have a Wonder Woman TV show? We always felt bad for Adrianne Palicki because of that. It felt like she was a perfect cast for the role, and seemed to be very interested in playing her.
Unfortunately, the pilot around her just wasn’t any good, and there’s a reason why the show never saw the light of day. The good news today is that Adrianne is getting another chance to take on a different iconic character from comic-book lore. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Palicki will appear in a season 2 episode of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” playing the character of Bobbi Morse, who goes on in at least the source material to be the hero Mockingbird. We love the casting in all directions. This gives Adrianne a chance to take on a different comic character, and it also allows for the show to get more in touch with superheroes and heroines again. The more the show can feel like an extension of the Marvel movies, the better.
Specifically, Palicki will be in the fifth episode of season 2, and there will be a door left slightly ajar for her to come back at some point further down the road. (We’d be shocked if she doesn’t come back.) She joins a rather robust lineup of guest stars for the new season, which includes “Twin Peaks” alum Kyle MacLachlan and of course “Xena: Warrior Princess” herself Lucy Lawless.
The new season premieres September 23 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern, in a new timeslot following “Selfie” and “Manhattan Love Story.”
