‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Felicity Smoak-centric episode has a new title
Who doesn’t want to see a Felicity-centric episode of “Arrow” season 3? Very sad people, that’s who! Emily Bett Rickards has been a fixture on the show for two seasons now, but we really do know a whole lot about her … at least until now.
The latest news today is all about a title, as executive producer Marc Guggenheim tells Entertainment Weekly that this upcoming hour is now called “The Secret Origins of Felicity Smoak.” As a title, we find it to be almost a little too obvious, even if we love the character. Then again, maybe “Oracle” as a name made people start to think that Felicity is Barbara Gordon reincarnated, and the show doesn’t plan on going that far down the Batman rabbit hole.
Speaking about the episode as a whole to the site, including some about Felicity’s mother (played by Charlotte Ross), Guggenheim had the following to say:
“We’ve established in the past that mom is a cocktail waitress in Vegas … She and Felicity are two very different people. Episode 5, which is when Felicity’s mom comes to town, really deals with the differences between these two women and how much of their relationship is a struggle as a result. It’s a real challenge for these two people to find some common ground.”
Overall, this is probably one of the most-anticipated episodes that the show has ever done, just because of the amount of hype they’ve given Felicity fans in between her relationship with Oliver and some of the cool things that she has gotten to do. That puts expectations at an all-time high, and we only hope that there is no disappointment here.
