‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Want to meet Oliver’s kid? You may have to wait
While there are many loose ends that can exist on a series like “Arrow,” one of the biggest ones going into season 3 comes as a result of a single one-episode story that aired during “Seeing Red”: Oliver Queen has a child … at least in theory. Moira paid off the child’s mother in return for lying about losing the baby, and they were sent on their way. We suppose it’s possible that she really did end up losing the child at some point, but that would make this story less fulfilling given the amount of time we have already invested into it.
Given that Moira is now dead, there is no longer a practical means for Oliver to find out the truth … and that may in turn be what keeps it from him for a while. For some further insight, just see what executive producer Marc Guggenheim had to say to TVLine:
“We also need to have that moment happen in the right context. So is it Year 3, is it Year 10…? I don’t know … We’ve put it out there and we’ve got some cool ideas about where to go with it, should we do it, but we havent committed to actually doing it or even when to do it.”
So with this in mind, it’s probably clear that there are no plans to address this right away in season 3, but we imagine that this will not be the last time that it is brought up. One interesting thing to remember here is that presumably, this child may be in Central City, and that could create an interesting way for Barry Allen to get involved in the story. More crossover potential! Also, what if this character ended up becoming a hero? This could either be very cool, or incredibly lame.
