‘Homeland’ season 3 spoilers: How Claire Danes’ Carrie will remember Brody
You likely know the (mostly exciting) news already that the Brody family is going to be MIA for “Homeland” season 4, but of course, they are never going to be completely forgotten. The fact that Carrie has a child with Brody is mostly proof of that.
While there will obviously be a passage of time between the end of season 3 and the start of the new one, that is still not enough time for Claire Danes’ character to fully get over the conflicted at-times terrorist played by Damian Lewis. Speaking to TV Guide, executive producer Alex Gansa explained in the following quote how there are still going to be a variety of struggles ahead:
“[Carrie’s] got a period of grieving to do in coming to terms with what happened at the end of last season, and clearly that’s represented and identified by the child that she had … The baby exists as a marker for her emotionally.”
We just hope that the child doesn’t remind her constantly of many of the negative experiences that came about thanks to Brody. This was a man with some essence of love in his heart, but he also put both her and everyone else at the CIA through the wringer.
For the most part, the reason why we are excited for the fourth season is because we are getting rid of most of the baggage. This means there will be an opportunity for the characters to mostly start anew, and not have to worry about scars left over from America. This is why there will be so many new faces for Carrie in Pakistan.
