‘The Last Ship’ episode 9 preview: Could Rachel’s cure lead to chaos?

The penultimate episode of “The Last Ship” season 1 is only a single day away from airing, and with that, we’re hopefully going to be very close to getting an important answer: Is it possible that Rachel’s cure is actually going to work to heal everyone who really needs it?

As the promo below suggests, the biggest problem that we can see Rachel running into on this episode is the hard reality that the cure and the virus could ravage the bodies of test patients, and send the crew of the ship into further peril. We see at least one body being dumped off at sea, while she continues to question whether or not she was smart to even try to figure out a way to solve this.

Let’s try to give Rachel a helping hand right now when it comes to that question: Yes, she was very smart to try to solve this! It’s either you try to find a cure at this point, or you slowly await your death. There is only so long that Chandler and company are going to be able to otherwise ensure their safety, and she is doing something for the good of all mankind.

If this episode turns out to be a failure, hopefully there will be some more attempts in the future. In the end, patience may really be the key here given that nothing will likely be resolved in a tiny amount of time like the final two episodes. (Thank goodness the show is already renewed for that simple reason.)
