‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7: Familiar themes, Charlie Hunnam in latest poster
“Sons of Anarchy” is really doing what they can right now to hammer down their promotional strategy for the seventh and final season, including that their main character of Jax Teller is becoming more and more of a shell of a man. At this point, the pain and thirst for revenge within him is starting to overtake more and more of his humanity.
Basically, the newest poster for the show combines Charlie Hunnam’s face along with that of a skull, which we have seen in various forms on some other promotional material. It’s still a very cool idea, and something that carries with it multiple meanings. For one, you could just take a look at this and say “awesome,” given how skulls are such common imagery within motorcycle culture. However, it also further symbolizes the character’s emotional state and sense of loneliness. While he may have a club in SAMCRO, he also lacks the truth, and lacks the woman who was at one point the love of his life.
We are going to be very interested in seeing what path creator Kurt Sutter carves for Jax in this final season, given that there are two separate ways that we could see this story going. Maybe he finds a way to turn this around and move forward with his life, or he descends further into darkness to the point where he puts the life of himself and everyone else he cares about into jeopardy. We would say at the moment that the latter is most likely, largely since this has never been a happy-go-lucky show where we imagined a happy ending would come in the end.
