‘America’s Got Talent’ results: Did Paul Ieti, Anna Clendening, Mike Super advance?
Tonight, “America’s Got Talent” aired its third results show of the season, and after what was an incredible string of performances last night, this is one of the first times we entered the show confused about what would happen. One of the theories dancing around in our brain, though, was that maybe the singers would just inevitably advance since they typically do in these situations. The rest of the talent could ultimately level itself out.
We’re going to go through all of the advancing acts here in the order that they were put through on the show.
Sons of Serendip – Don’t you know you have a great act when your lead singer is better than most of the solo singers in the competition? This was a supreme performance that actually moved the audience.
Blue Journey – Hooray for a performance that was not all about vocals! This is the Kenichi Ebina of the show this season, at least in that it incorporates dance and visual arts. Its biggest competitor right now is Aerial Animation, who does something at least vaguely similar.
Paul Ieti – Wait, what happened here? He was pretty good, but not phenomenal. We see this mostly as a product of him being a soldier, and then him also having the final spot on the show. He advanced over Anna Clendening, which was somewhat a shock given that she has an online following.
Christian Stoinev – This one surprised us at first, but then it made a little sense. America loves dogs! Christian incorporating his tiny pooch in here was really one of the smartest things that he ever could have done for himself.
AcroArmy – We’re slightly surprised by this one over Mike Super. It’s not that the acrobats were terrible, but Mike had such a unique spin on magic and did tricks we’ve never seen. Yes, his gimmick with Desmond was just that, but we really didn’t mind it!

It’s shocking that Anna didn’t win because she had an online following? Well, I guess you didn’t know Paul had an online following too.

Strongly disliked Mr. Super’s act last night and glad he’s gone.

Mike Super’s tricks were gimmicky and easy to figure out. His first one, with the arm touch, didn’t even work properly. So glad AcroArmy went through instead. The one disappointment was Cornell Bhangra not going through. They were so much better than Paul Ieti.
