‘Scandal’ season 4 spoilers: The two latest additions are…
For the upcoming fourth season of “Scandal,” executive producer Shonda Rhimes seems to be putting a high priority on something that was often forgotten during the previous 18 or so episodes: Giving us more specific cases for Olivia Pope to “handle.” We personally feel like this show is best when there is a balance between the procedural and serialized elements of it, and maybe that is something we are going to see on it moving forward.
With that being said now, let’s go into the latest castings. Sources confirm that Mary McCormack of “In Plain Sight” and Josh Randall of “Ed” fame are each going to guest-star in an upcoming season 4 episode that takes place following the premiere. In true Rhimes fashion details are sketchy, other than that the two will play some sort of couple.
If we had to speculate for the time being, then we would say that these two characters are just going to be a part of substantial story of the week. These two wouldn’t come over most likely for anything else, and the show seems to have its long-term plotline already figured out. While we’re sure that Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) is front and center for this, we also expect that the newly-minted guest star played by Portia de Rossi is also going to play a significant role here.
The new season of “Scandal” will premiere on ABC come Thursday, September 25 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, and we’ll have some further casting updates coming up in the future. Stay tuned!
