ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7: Talking Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, and silly stories
For the latest chapter (book puns seem appropriate for “Castle” stories) in our season 7 speculation series, we’re back today with a simple question: How do you keep the balance? How long are you willing to wait before you get an episode stuffed full of humor, especially after some particularly dramatic hours?
Let’s start by grounding this in some reality. The finale in May was the rare beast for “Castle”: An episode that started off as a very-fun and silly romp that featured some of Beckett’s past, and a question to ensure that she could even marry Rick in the first place. However, it ended with tragedy befalling Nathan Fillion’s character.
What we know for sure now is that the premiere is going to definitely be a fast-paced, intense one, and this is likely to be followed by more of the same in the second episode. On the flip side, what has made “Castle” such a hit, though, is the way that this show effectively tends to balance out telling some serious stories alongside ones that make you laugh.
When do we think that the show needs to have a mystery that is mostly comedic? We feel like episode 3 is the sweet spot, and then to have another in either the fifth or sixth installment. While like likes of “Always,” “Veritas,” and “In the Belly of the Beast” are fondly remembered, so are “Time Will Tell” and “the Way of the Ninja.” When you have a show that can play multiple genres, you need to do what you can to ensure that they each have some time in the spotlight.
When do you want to see the funnier side for Castle and Beckett come out? Share some of your thoughts now in the comments, and head over here for some other tangible news regarding mysteries that lie ahead. Castle has went downhill will be watching the Blacklist instead and recording NCIS LA. Might record Castle if I feel generous.

I think the fans will stay with Castle if the writers pull their skills back to the great level they were and give Rick a larger part in crime solving. He was great in holding Beckett together when she finally came to depend on him and value his opinion. They are partners and love each other and the relationship needs to continue to grow and they need to solve crimes together. I hope the powers that be do not put a lot of junk together like they did in the finale. Castle can grow in audience and ratings if they play their cards right.

I just hope the fans stay with CASTLE with the tough competition it will up against with both ‘BLACKLIST’ & ‘NCIS LA’ at the same time slot this new fall season. I know I will be an avid watcher of CASTLE no matter what the other networks place against it for CASTLE is by far my favorite program. I love both the comedic and the serious episodes equally. Is it September 29th yet??? Can’t wait for Season 7 to start for CASTLE!!
