‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 spoilers: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau on Tywin’s end, Jaime’s next move

Game of Thrones -Game of Thrones” is a tricky universe sometimes, mostly because there are going to be so many different forces and feelings that pull at you at various times. While you have your own personal desires as a character, you also have to consider the larger ramifications of these feelings should you act on them. There are political implications, and also one that could hurt those you love who are close to you.

For Jaime Lannister, he is probably feeling a whole tornado of feelings right now following the death of father Tywin. There may be a part of him relieved that there is no longer torment laid upon him, but at the same time, he never wished for such a grisly fate for the man … or for King’s Landing to be in such political turmoil.

Given that there are few to speak about the character better than the man who plays him, let’s turn this over to Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Speaking to Zap2It recently at San Diego Comic-Con, he made it clear how Tywin’s death will impact him, and then also much of the realm:

“No matter what Tywin has done, I think Jaime still loves his father because he’s his father, and he certainly didn’t want him dead … Also, on a political scale it’s a disaster because Tywin was so powerful. [Jaime] understands that it is not good for the safety of Cersei and Tommen and the Lannisters.”

What certainly excited us right now is the opportunity to see where the story goes from here around the Iron Throne, mostly because King’s Landing is not anywhere near the same place that it once was anymore. Many of our favorite characters are now away, though the timing is now right for the greatest Margaery vs. Cersei feud imaginable as they each fight for control of Tommen.

We’ll have some more “Game of Thrones” news, but for now we’re still obsessing over Aimee Richardson’s hilarious reaction to her character being recast. Also, you can sign up today to get some further throne-worthy updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
