‘Game of Thrones’ season 5: Former Myrcella hilariously responds to recasting

Game of Thrones -At this point, recastings are almost as common on “Game of Thrones” as people losing appendages: It happens almost all the time. Some of the notable ones have been multiple versions of The Mountain, two different King Tommens, and also the big change for Daario that happened in between seasons 3 and 4.

However, we would say that none of them have been anywhere near as hilarious as what Aimee Richardson did this week to comment on her no longer playing Myrcella, the daughter of Cersei and “Robert” (really Jaime) who was shipped off to Dorne earlier in the series’ run in a political move by the Lannisters. As we learned in the video at Comic-Con, Nell Tiger Free is now going to be playing that part.

Why the change? It typically comes down to either availability, or a desire for producers to age up the character a little bit once they realize when they are coming back. This is what happened with Tommen, since they wanted an actor to presumably make the scenes with Margaery at least a trifle less creepy.

Now, let’s get back to Richardson. In a post on Vine (which you can see below), she had a hilarious response to the fact that she is no longer playing the Myrcella part on the show. This is really the only good way to respond to something like this other than saying nothing; for Aimee, this has turned into a big win. Since posting the Vine, she has received a flurry of publicity from publications all over the world. Why knows? It may help the actress from Northern Ireland land some other gigs in the future.
