‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ spoilers: ‘Masters of Sex,’ ‘All My Children’ alum cast
Ryan Murphy continues to round out the cast of “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” even though on this occasion he did something rare for him in actually booking someone not an extremely famous name.
In a post on Twitter, the showrunner confirmed that Finn Wittrock (who has appeared in “All My Children” and multiple episodes of “Masters of Sex“) has signed on in a currently-unknown role. Wittrock does still have a connection with Murphy, as he played the part of Albert in his acclaimed HBO TV movie “The Normal Heart.”
It was Murphy himself who first made the news official in a post on Twitter, where he had the following to say about his casting:
“Thrilled to announce the very talented FINN WITTROCK has joined the cast of Freak Show!”
That’s not the most revealing thing ever, now is it? In the end, we’re just grateful that Murphy chose to make an announcement at all. He could have very easily just stayed silent for an extended period of time and forced us to try and guess who his next casting was going to be. In this case, we would have been trying to figure this one out for a rather long time.
The new season just recently starting to pick up production in New Orleans, with the story revolving around a freak show in Jupiter, Florida that is on its last legs. Jessica Lange plays the German expatriate responsible for running the show, which Sarah Paulson, Michael Chiklis, and more are meant to be some of the freaks.
Speaking of Paulson’s character, click here to see a photo now! It’s only the back of their heads, but this may be enough to still have you excited. Also, sign up to receive some not-so-horrible TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
