‘Covert Affairs’ season 5, episode 5 preview: First look at ‘Elevate Me Later’

Are you ready to see some of the tables turned when it comes to “Covert Affairs“? Next week’s new episode is going to provide an opportunity for that very thing. There will be a role reversal for Annie and Auggie, but also so many personal problems for the latter that it could complicate a mission. Also, Paris! We don’t really fee like that really needs that much further of an explanation, even if it is not actual Paris, we like to think that we are very capable of using our imagination.

We are particularly fond of the episode’s title this time around in “Elevate Me Later,” and based on the official synopsis below, Annie and Auggie’s story is really going to be just the tip of the iceberg for everything that is going on:

“Auggie’s emotional history with a potential asset complicates a mission when he and Annie switch roles as operative and handler in Paris.  Joan attempts to play matchmaker for Calder. Arthur heads on his first operation abroad for McQuaid Security.”

What are you think about the McQuaid storyline so far this season? At first, we were somewhat nervous, but largely because of the fact that most of these “security firm” stories that we see on this sort of show never feel that interesting. We’re coming around on this one, mostly because of the way that the characters bounce off of each other.

Also, this episode has us excited just thanks to the prospect of Joan playing matchmaker for anyone. See that comfort zone? Well, it’s probably in the rear-view mirror at this point.
