‘The Flash’ spoilers: Grant Gustin on potential for ‘Arrow’ crossovers
The moment that you saw the Barry Allen character first given life over on “Arrow,” you had to know that there were going to be plenty of crossovers between this show in “The Flash” moving forward. That still appears to be definitely a part of the plan, and is something that we are very interested to watch pan out (even if we do hope it doesn’t happen until later in the year, after each show has established its own identity).
Speaking to E! News, Grant Gustin did confirm that there are going to be plenty of crossover events that do happen, and do tie the worlds of one show and the other together pretty effortlessly. One of these said crossovers could eventually involve a love triangle, given that Gustin says that “it’s sounding like that’s what they’re building up for.” While we guess this is not proof that it will be between Oliver, Felicity, and Barry, we don’t quite know who else it would be with.
The only thing that we would caution the two shows with is either getting into too much of a romance overload, or forcing viewers to have to watch both to understand what is going on. While we’ll be there with popcorn both nights that these shows are on the air, we are also very cognizant of the fact that there are some other there who may only enjoy one hero, or only have the time in their week to catch one of the shows. A good comparison would be “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals,” who we feel did a pretty good job with this during the time that they were on the air.
