‘Glee’ season 6: See Lea Michele’s message on Cory Monteith death anniversary

Take a look -Today marks a somber today for many within the “Glee” community, as it was just one year ago that Cory Monteith passed away in a Vancouver hotel room. His death was so sudden and unexpected that it rocked fans and his family and friends alike. It also shook the very foundation of the Fox series to its core, even to the point where the entire series had to change. “The Quarterback” to us remains one of the most emotional hours of any show that we have ever seen.

Typically, we are not a fan at all of these “celebrities react” stories, mostly because of the fact that they always tend to feel a little too over-the-top and unnecessary for what they are trying to discuss. However, there is a certain necessary quality to this one, given that some of these quotes below from the cast may serve as a sort of comfort to those of you out there who are still missing Cory deeply today.

Lea Michele – “We hold you in our hearts today, and every day we remember your smile. We will love you and miss you always. ❤️”

Amber Riley – “I remember your smile and your warm hugs! 1 year without you and your presence is still felt. Miss and love u everyday big bro Our Angel”

Jenna Ushkowitz – “365 days since you’ve gone and not a day passes we don’t remember your smiling face. We miss you buddy. Thanks to everyone for your love and support today while we remember our quarterback.”

Matthew Morrison – “I personally believe Cory was reborn into some other beautiful form a year ago today. I celebrate him and his life… Wherever that may be.”

Kevin McHale – “It’s been 1 whole year & it’s still so surreal, but today is just a reminder of how damn great you were and how much you mean to us all.”

“Glee” co-creator Ryan Murphy, who often referred to Cory as a metaphorical son to him, simply posted “miss you” alongside a title card of his birth and death year.

Rest in peace, Cory. We’ll remember you for all of the great work that you did on the show, and also all of the nice things that so many who loved you had to say about you.
