‘The X Factor’ notes: Cher Lloyd, Demi Lovato, and Victoria Beckham

The latest -This is a somewhat-abridged version of “The X Factor” notes, but we’ve still got a pair of stories worth discussing … starting with the latest from Demi Lovato.

The former US judge this past week released her new music video for “Really Don’t Care,” which is slowly starting to make its way up the music charts. It features an interlude from former UK contestant Cher Lloyd, who has spent more time on American airwaves lately thanks to her new deal with Epic Records. She and Demi toured together earlier this year along with Little Mix (who won the British show a couple of years back) and also Fifth Harmony (the girl group that made it to the final three on Demi’s first season).

This video also features a cameo from Demi’s real-life boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama, in addition to a few other people. There’s nothing altogether shocking about it, but we do like that it’s plenty of fun.

Could Victoria Beckham appear on the UK show? – It’s an interesting question, and one that is being asked by the UK tabloids after Mel B hinted online that her former fellow Spice Girl, and arguably the most-famous of the group around the world, could join her for judges’ houses. We’d almost bank on it being something that the show would love. It’s a chance to stage a mini-reunion for the band, and get some more ratings to a show that can always use a little bump. Still, we find it hilarious that the UK show gets better viewers than the American one did, even though the country has a fraction of the population.
