‘Covert Affairs’ season 5, episode 2 preview: First look at ‘False Skorpion’

The premiere of “Covert Affairs” brought us the return of Annie Walker to Washington after many months away, but it did not provide a whole lot when it comes to answers. Maybe this is where next week’s “False Skorpion” comes into play, but we doubt it is going to be that easy to figure out everything that is really going on here.

For those wondering what the title may mean, this is the name of a song by Pavement, but it would be rather silly of us to automatically assume automatically that we are talking about a song here with the name of an episode. It’s possible a clue to go by.

As for the story itself, this is a little more concrete based on the way the premiere ended. After the horrifying explosion, Annie now has a new mission. It is not going to be an easy one for her to handle, and nor will it be one that she will feel secure during. She just returned, after all, and now she is being sent right back out in the field again while there are others still asking about her, and wondering whether or not she can be fully trusted anymore.

This is a season that we project already to be exciting, as the promo that aired after tonight promised excitement, and plenty of it. Let’s just hope that there are some further answers implanted along the way, along with something that allows for Annie and Auggie to be closer together again.
