‘Downton Abbey’ season 5: Michelle Dockery, Joanne Froggatt, more step out for charity
Clearly, the “Downton Abbey” cast is fine spending a great deal of time with one another. Otherwise, it becomes very difficult for them to continue to do events with each other after work, immediately following having to spend a whole lot of time together on set.
Earlier this week, a number of the cast members assembled at an event entitled Animals Asia’s A Wonderful Starry Night For the Moon Bears, which was held in London at Camden’s Gilgamesh Restaurant. Among the attendees for the event were Joanne Froggatt (Anna), Michelle Dockery (Mary), Lily James (Rose), Allen Leech (Tom), Sophie McShera (Daisy), and Lesley Nicol (Mrs. Patmore). It was a chance for the group to not only show off a glamorous side, but also one that is distinctively modern. There really are not many opportunities that they have to do that on set, given the attire.
Also, something else that we did not mention earlier is that for many of these actors, this is one of the only times that they receive to actually spend a legitimate amount of time with each other as a whole. While Froggatt and Dockery may film many scenes together, for example, most of the kitchen employees (played by McShera and Nicol) film their scenes on a separate location than Highclere Castle, and there are not that many opportunities that they have to go in and work with the rest of the group.
The new season of “Downton Abbey” will premiere on ITV this coming September, and we will have much more news on this before that time.
