‘Fargo’ finale spoilers: A video peek at Martin Freeman; plus, a longer episode
The first big news that we have to share now regarding the “Fargo” finale on Tuesday night is something that FX viewers (in particular ones who watch “Sons of Anarchy”) should be familiar with: Episodes lasting a little bit longer than the average 60 minutes.
With commercials included, the final chapter presumably in Lester Nygard and Lorne Malvo’s tale (no, this doesn’t mean they are going to die)will clock in at 90 minutes. Make sure your recorders are set accordingly if they are not already, and give yourself a lot of time to kick back and enjoy what happens here.
The biggest loose end to tie up here is obviously on the police end. Molly now actually has some help for the first time in terms of proving Lester is guilty of something, and given how shrewd and tough she has been with virtually no resources, shouldn’t she really kick some butt and take names with them? We have to believe so.
On the flip side, Malvo will be entering this episode with his own specific goals when it comes to trying to ensure that he gets his full revenge on Lester. We’ve already seen him take away his wife, but Billy Bob Thornton’s character has already proven that he has no problem continuing to sap more and more out of someone until there is literally nothing left. Given how shallow Martin Freeman’s trickster really is, it should not be that hard to completely take everything from him now.
While there will definitely be great performances, twist, and turns in the finale, the biggest thing we expect is simply great TV. This is mostly likely the episode that closes the book on the story; if there is another season, we imagine that it will have to be something completely different.
