‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: The first message from returning writers

More scoop -Arrow” fans, rejoice! The road to season 3 is officially upon us.

We wrote over the weekend that Monday would be the first day for the writers to be back together, and it has been confirmed in a simple message on the group’s awesome Twitter feed: “Day 1. Season 3! #Arrow #backintheroom #GETREADY” It is certainly not the most descriptive message in the world, but just how descriptive do you expect the group to be right now, all things considered? The early stages of writing are more about setting general arcs than putting the entire premiere on paper, and they are not going to reveal larger storylines, anyway.

The only thing that has been reasonably confirmed about season 3, saved of course for the actors involved and the return of Malcolm Merlyn, is that this “Oliver’s baby” story is something that was specifically dangled to be addressed in the future. There may also be some spin-off action at some point with The Flash, but we would be surprised if that happens early in the season, since we feel like that is a much better stunt for the November or February sweeps.

So when will you find out some huge story scoop? We imagine in late June or early July some casting notes may start to float around the web, with actual actors announced for the parts weeks beyond that. the productions for the majority of scripted shows start up in July, or at least for the ones that air on network TV.
