‘Britain’s Got Talent’ results: Ed Sheeran performs; did Jodi Bird, The Addict Initiative advance?
During tonight’s “Britain’s Got Talent” results show, we had a performance from Ed Sheeran and Amanda Holden threatening to eat her underwear in the event that Jodi Bird did not advance to the finale. Is it fair to say with this in mind that the gauntlet was thrown?
There were around five acts that could be considered as possible contenders to advance out of the nine that performed: The Addict Initiative, Ed Drewett, James Smith, Jodi, and Bolddog FMX Stunt Team. They all brought things to the table … but James and Jodi were still the favorites. Singers dominate these shows, boring as that may be. The show doesn’t do Bolddog any favors, and the dance team and Ed both performed something very similar to their first go-around.
The lineup started to be narrowed down quickly, and we were left with three pretty predictable names: Jodi, James, and the Addict Initiative. Of course, James was voted through as the winner of the night, which is almost always the case when you manage to perform at the end of the show.
Now, we come to the controversy of the night as The Addict Initiative managed to go through over the singer. This seemed to be mostly a call to get more variety in the finale, but we’re not sure we agreed with it. The dance group was somewhat cool, but nothing altogether new and isn’t exactly likely to have any sort of career after the show. We don’t usually champion singers on a show like this, but Jodi has potential.
