‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8 spoilers: Jim Parsons on Sheldon, Amy’s future
During this past season of “The Big Bang Theory,” there was a pretty substantial leap forward for the Leonard / Penny relationship as the two finally got engaged! You have to suspect that a wedding for these two is going to be one of many things that the show’s bosses chat about over the course of the upcoming vacation.
But what about one of the show’s other couples? We’re of course talking here about Sheldon and Amy, who over the course of the season took a big leap forward as the couple kissed, but then took a step back when he refuted the idea of them living together before taking off on a train … at least presumably. We never actually saw him get on it, which could be an easy way to resolve the cliffhanger if the writers do not want to do anything crazy.
So what does the man behind the part foresee happening for the couple? While he admits to knowing very little about the future despite his efforts to find out, Jim Parsons tells TVLine that he is happy so long as the pace of the relationship stays the same:
“I don’t know that we’re headed for the bedroom or the altar any time soon. But, whatever… The writers have been so good with the pace of it, just bring more is all I would say.”
We feel like there will be a certain amount of effort early on in the season in order to establish a new equilibrium for the show, which is needed after all this change. All we hope is that things do not become entirely what they were a few weeks before the season ended. After seven years of similar living arrangements, for example, it’s time for a change!

I think that Sheldon did get on the train. He may not have gone far, but he did get on the train.

“We never actually saw him get on it, which could be an easy way to resolve the cliffhanger if….. ” – Wrong. Sheldon calls Amy while on his sabbatical to let them know he is ok.

Except Leonard makes Penny miserable (and a miserable drunk at that, instead of her previous happy-go-lucky one) and she shouldn’t BE in a relationship with her… and she abuses him… so they just don’t belong together at all. And Amy should just be off the show. She’s a manipulative cur who doesn’t help Sheldon (only herself) AND doesn’t make him more interesting.

Except you’re wrong. Penny comes to realize several time that she loves Leonard, and she understands that he’s inexperienced with women. That’s why even though she may get aggravated at times, she tolerates his behavior. It’s far from miserable. And as for Amy, while she’s manipulative she’s as naive as Sheldon about relationships and is the one person who can tolerate his quirks.
