NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ season 2, episode 12 preview: Mads Mikkelsen and danger combine
There are only a pair of episodes left before the story of “Hannibal” season 2 is told, and with that in mind, you almost have to expect one thing: Insanity. There will be a higher potential for character death than ever as the case against Mads Mikkelsen’s character builds. Not only that, but the Verger family becomes more involved, and we may very well find out just what Freddie Lounds is actually doing still alive. Wouldn’t you like to know?
The title for the penultimate episode is “Tome-Wan,” which is a Japanese term for a specific Miso-based soup. Once again, it’s hard to really figure out if these titles are really meant to connect to anything or not in terms of the story.
What we can tell you is that you can see some of the big details about what to expect via the episode synopsis below:
“In a therapy session, Will imagines how he would kill Hannibal, honestly sharing his visions, and oddly bolstering their co-dependency. Later, in a session with Mason Verger (Michael Pitt), Hannibal discusses Margot’s (Katherine Isabelle) unfortunate “accident” and other veiled threats. Jack (Laurence Fishburne) grows impatient with Will’s progress on catching Hannibal, and brings in a surprise witness from the past to help. And when Hannibal’s life is threatened, Will must decide whether to come to his aid, and give Hannibal the opportunity for revenge.”
Could we actually see Hannibal die? It seems doubtful, unless season 3 is Ghost Hannibal coming back to permanently haunt Will beyond just his dreams. Still, we don’t feel like the likelihood of him living really diminishes the story that much.

I’ll bet the end of the next episode we will see something bad happen to Mason.
