‘The X Factor’ notes: Little Mix, Ella Henderson, and Mel B rumors
Judging rumors – Welcome to the comedy of errors from the British tabloids! Today, The Mirror published a story claiming that Mel B is the current favorite to become a judge on “The X Factor” next season, even though she already has a job on “America’s Got Talent” that could make it hard (but still feasible, we suppose) to do both shows.
In this story, they also claimed that Louis Walsh’s future was unclear, and then followed this with a story saying that Jake Shears of the Scissor Sisters was being lined up to replace him. Make up your mind, people! The only announcement we’ll buy at this point is the official one that comes from Simon Cowell soon.
Ella Henderson’s new philosophy – We’ve been a big fan of the reinvention that Ella Henderson has went under as an artist since being on the show in 2012. She had the chance to really work hard and concentrate on putting out a good album, and that echoes through her first single “Ghost” (which you can listen to here).
Speaking to Reveal, Ella opened up on what some of this process was like for her to change things up, and be difficult than what expected from her:
“In the beginning I was open to anything, but you figure out what your sound is and when you go into sessions there’s certain things you have to be open and honest on … When it comes to my music, when it’s your job, you can be cutthroat about things.”
Little Mix’s new video – Girl power! That is mostly what “Salute” is about. Since we were talking about the Spice Girls earlier, it only seems appropriate that the ladies have a new video out that has similar themes to what Mel B and company would sing about.
