NBC’s ‘The Voice’ results: Were Tess Boyer, Kat Perkins, Bria Kelly, or Delvin Choice eliminated?

The latest -

Going into tonight’s results show for “The Voice,” we had our concerns that the bottom three competing for the safe were going to be Tess Boyer, Bria Kelly, and Delvin Choice. They were the three artists ranked the lowest on iTunes, and while this is not the only indicator of whether or not someone will last in the competition, it’s typically a good one.

In the early going here, the show certainly made the drama percolate by getting rid of some of the likely-safe artists during the early going. Sisaundra Lewis, Josh Kaufman, Christina Grimmie, and Kristen Merlin were the first four artists safe … which you knew was coming, since all four of them have delivered good performances recently.

There was a surprise, though, when it came to the moment that the bottom three was revealed. It was Tess, Bria, and … Kat Perkins? She performed fairly well on the show last night and on iTunes, but she performed first on the night. That, more often than not, is the reality TV kiss of death. People tend to forget about you.

After the three artists performed, our pick was going to be to keep Kat on the show. She was the best last night, and she also had the best chance of actually going further in the competition. Tess has been in the bottom before, and Bria was pretty awful last night with her Avril Lavigne cover.

In the end, Kat was saved … and while this leaves both Usher and Shakira with only one singer each, this was probably the right decision. The show as a whole, though, still didn’t need to be an hour long. Grade: C+.

In case you hadn’t heard, the news was made official earlier in the day that Gwen Stefani is going to be appearing on the show for season 7. As for news on all shows we cover, be sure to sign up now for our CarterMatt Newsletter to get updates sent right to you.
