‘Call the Midwife’ season 3, episode 6 preview (PBS): Stories for Shelagh, Trixie

What happens on “Call the Midwife” next week? With Jenny still away at the end of Sunday night’s installment, you better expect that there is going to be some more stories that do not involve their character in any way.

The biggest thing that we will tease for now is that if you are a fan of Shelagh, there is quite a bit of stuff ahead for her as she and Dr. Turner consider their future. The story will take a few interesting wrinkles here that you will not see coming.

Also, expect what we personally think is a rather fun story when it comes to Trixie. She’s always been one of our personal favorites on the show, mostly because she brings such a fun energy and quirkiness. This story has to do with her love life, and it will make you laugh and smile at the same time.

So what about the long-term story as a whole? There isn’t much of one on this show compared to others, but you will see some progression there. Tonight’s episode was an emotional one, and if you thought for some reason that it was a little too procedural, you will enjoy this one a little bit more. There are only a few episodes on this season following this one, and this episode will do a good job of pushing you closer to the conclusion of the season. That is an ending that involves both of the stories that we have mentioned already, and it is going to certainly surprise.
