‘The Mentalist’ season 6 spoilers: New details on Lisbon’s big decision
For six seasons of “The Mentalist,” one of the things that Patrick Jane has always been able to hang his hat on is the ability to control almost any situation. He’s incredibly smart, charming, and understands how to properly manipulate a situation to be in his favor.
Unfortunately for him, he is now running into a situation with Lisbon where he simply cannot do that. While he could do a few things to try to convince her to stay with him rather than go with Agent Pike (Pedro Pascal) to DC, he cannot force her to do anything. He has to actually win her over to his side, which has the potential to be sweet and romantic and everything that makes “Mentalist” fans just up and down on their couches like they are Tom Cruise during an episode of “Oprah.” (Cheers to dated references!)
Will this moment happen in the penultimate episode of the season entitled “Black Hearts”? It’s a little early to tell, since we know that most of the good stuff is being saved for the finale. Personally, we read the synopsis below much in the way that we read the ones for a number of other episodes that we’ve seen lately:
“With time running out to save the victims of a kidnapping ring before they are transported overseas, Jane and Lisbon zero in on the criminal enterprise’s mastermind. Meanwhile, Lisbon decides if she will move to D.C. with Agent Pike.”
No offense to the writers, but they are going to have a hard time hooking us with any procedural plot right now thanks to the hooks being put in on this Jane / Lisbon storyline. Now that it is clear they are heading in this direction, now is the time when closure is very much wanted. Will we get it? Given the show’s unstable future, we’re sure that we’ll at least get something. Nobody wants to end the season or perhaps the series with a revolt.

Well I hope they had Jane and Lisbon end up together. It will be disappointing if they didn’t. Jane can now be honest with Lisbon all of the time now that the Red John chase is over. He clearly loves her. She was the first item on his list of demands. He risked ending up in jail for the rest of his life or on death row mainly to be with her. If that isn’t love I don’t know what is. But he needs to “court” her and tell her he loves her and how much she means to him without picking her pocket and driving away this time.
Lisbon hasn’t known Pike long enough. I don’t think she is the type to give up her current job and run off with a guy she barely knows. I hope I am right.

He didn’t risk jail for her. After fleeing the country for 2 years he decided to come back because of the offer he received from the FBI. Only then did me make her part of the deal. That’s what she was mad about on the plane. It’s clear Lisbon likes Pike, it’s the first real relationship she’s had in a long time. Does she like him enough to run off with him remains to be seen. If she is hesitant to leave it’s not because she loves Jane but because they have a history together and she know she’s all he has. Even though RJ is dead Jane is still too wracked with guilt to move on past his family’s death. He said so on the beach to Kim. So Jane “courting” Lisbon is a fantasy.

man I’m so anxious and scared.. but still hopeful.. I like what it says about Jane having to win her over.. I’m not liking the Pike storyline so I just hope they don’t ruin Jisbon with a last minute lame confession

To me it’s obvious that Lisbon is going to go with Pike to DC. This whole Pike knows he’s in love with Lisbon and she seems to be in love with him after only knowing each other a short while seem unrealistic to me, but if that’s the way they want to go then thats how they are going to go.
I don’t see how exactly they can advoid a revolt, I mean the Jisbon fans will probably surly revolt if Jane and Lisbon don’t get together.
