‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: More on Emilia Clarke, Kit Harrington, road ahead

Dany -There’s a trade-off when it comes to episode synopses for new episodes of “Game of Thrones.” The good news is that HBO releases them by month, you are allowed the opportunity to find out more information on new episodes many weeks before it actually airs.

Unfortunately, the downside of that is that you are not given much in the way of substantial information. The most the upcoming May synopses will give you is information about who is spending time with who, or possibly a little more if you are an avid reader of the George R.R. Martin books. (Martin himself made headlines earlier this week with his reaction to the surprising Jaime rape scene.)

So be warned that there are minor spoilers ahead, but we are moving on to share the three synopses that are now crossing the internet at a pace that would make any ship in Westeros green with envy.

4×05, “First of His Name” (May 4) – “Cersei (Lena Headey) and Tywin (Charles Dance) plot the Crown’s next move. Dany (Emilia Clarke) discusses future plans. Jon (Kit Harington) embarks on a new mission. Written by David Benioff & D. B. Weiss; directed by Michelle MacLaren.”

4×06, “The Laws of Gods and Men” (May 11) – “Stannis (Stephen Dillane) and Davos (Liam Cunningham) set sail with a new strategy. Dany meets with supplicants. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) faces down his father in the throne room. Written by Bryan Cogman; directed by Alik Sakharov.”

4×07, “Mockingbird” (May 18) – “Tyrion enlists an unlikely ally. Daario (Michiel Huisman) entreats Dany to allow him to do what he does best. Jon’s warnings about the Wall’s vulnerability fall on deaf ears. Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) follows a new lead on the road with Pod (Daniel Portman). Written by David Benioff & D. B. Weiss; directed by Alik Sakharov.”

We included the writers and directors here because it gives you some addition insight into creative vision; Benioff and Weiss are of course the showrunners, while MacLaren has directed many great episodes of both this show and “Breaking Bad.” Sakharov has done everything from “Chicago Fire” to “Boardwalk Empire” to the underrated and quick-to-be-canceled “Rubicon.”

Which one of these episodes excited you the most? (We’re personally interested in seeing the Brienne – Pod trip, though we’ve love for Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington in particular to play some new challenges.)
