‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10: Isaiah Washington teases more of Burke’s return
“Grey’s Anatomy” has aired a variety of various “big episodes” over the years, but the May 1 one entitled “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” may be one of the biggest. After all, it marks the return of one of the series’ original stars in Isaiah Washington. A lot has happened since he was last a part of the series, and his exit was well-publicized at the time.
Regardless of any of that, though, the return of Dr. Burke is very important to the show, given that it brings someone back to the fold that has a connection to Dr. Cristina Yang like no other. Burke knows the character, and his return helps to further allow Cristina to have that big, full-circle moment of where she has come from … and to also see what life is like on the other side.
Now speaking to BuddyTV in a new interview, Washington spoke out about how he personally believes his return will blow the minds of many viewers, and there is some really great stuff that will happen over the course of the episode. All in all, he really cannot say much about what Burke is back or what impact he will have on Cristina’s life, but you have to think that the two parties are going to share at least a few scenes together.
Washington was interviewed at WonderCon in the first place thanks to his new series “The 100,” which is airing right now on The CW. Its fate beyond this season is unclear, but for Washington it is important as his first series regular gig since everything went down with “Grey’s Anatomy” so many years ago.
