‘Call the Midwife’ season 3, episode 4 preview (PBS): What transpires with Jenny, Alec?

Jenny -While we always encourage watching television live from the standpoint of helping ratings, that may not matter as much for a commercial-free network like PBS and therefore a show like “Call the Midwife.” However, we do still highly recommend watching this one live for the sake of not getting spoiled by your friends. If the internet hasn’t ruined this one for you already, you are in commendable shape.

So in order to keep things reasonably spoiler-free, we’ve omitted part of the official PBS synopsis below. However, this show still serve as a nice tease still of what is coming up Sunday night:

Jenny’s patient Leah is struggling to cope with her mother’s agoraphobia, as well as her own pregnancy. When her husband is offered a new job and home, Leah knows she can’t leave her mother behind after all they went through to survive the Holocaust. With the arrival of new life, Mrs. Rubin seems reborn, too; with great effort and help from Sister Winifred, she manages to step outside for the first time in 12 years.”

The big event that turns this hour into important live viewing has to do with the Jenny – Alec characters, and at the center of it is a nasty fall that Alec takes not long after trying to convince Jessica Raine’s character to take a trip to Brighton with him. Regardless of what happens from here, this is a watershed moment that changes the story much of the rest of the way.
