‘Bates Motel’ season 2, episode 8 preview: Freddie Highmore’s ‘Meltdown’ predicament
For most of Monday’s “Bates Motel,” it appeared as though Norman Bates was going to be able to get off free when it comes to the case of Cody’s father … and in a way, he did. The problem comes via what happened after that. The big surprise at the tail end of the episode was that there was DNA evidence linking him to the body of Miss Watson.
This, shall we say, changes everything moving into the final three episodes of the season starting with next week’s “Meltdown.” Norman is now in trouble, and there is virtually no way his DNA would be on Watson by accident. As the synopsis below teases, Romero has his hands full. The good news? It does appear that Dylan is going to make it through some pretty horrible injuries:
“Romero digs deeper into the murder of Miss Watson; the conflict between the drug families leaves Dylan facing an impossible choice; Norma refuses to tell Norman the truth about his blackouts.”
Interestingly enough, it is the story with Dylan that we have the hardest time believing out of the entire group right now. Maybe it is because part of us feels like Norman’s starting to get figured out, while it’s hard to fathom Dylan being able to do a whole lot of anything in his present situation.
Regardless, you better expect Norman to get pretty close to becoming the killer that he is destined to be by the end of this season … and you know that this does not bode well for anyone around him.
