‘Person of Interest’ season 3, episode 20 preview: Reese’s new mission and more
For some “Person of Interest” fans, we imagine that it had to feel strange to turn on CBS tonight and see Agent Carter back on the screen. No, it wasn’t a crossover episode with “Resurrection” that caused her to rise up from the dead (as cool as that could’ve been); instead, it was one of those rare times this year that the show was in repeats while the two editions of the “NCIS” franchise were brand-new. Blame the differences in episode count for that.
Now, we do have some more news about what will be happening when the show returns to CBS next week with an episode that could not sound any more ominous: “Death Benefit.” Before we do anything else, let’s start things off here by sharing the official synopsis forthe hour below:
“Reese poses as a Secret Service agent to get close to the latest POI, a U.S. congressman who may hold the key to derailing Decima’s plans to bring a second Machine online.”
This all sounds exciting enough, and it better be given how close we are to the end of the season now. There’s a lot to tie up here in between multiple Machines, character motivations, and if this motley crew can come together. After seeing so much of Root and Shaw as of late, it’s easy to forget that they haven’t been with the team for quite that long. Jane and Finch are still the anchors, especially when it comes to alternating brooding moments and being cool. (Root, meanwhile, is the “Person of Interest” Harley Quinn. That’s perfect, given Jonathan Nolan’s involvement in the show.)
Do you think that Reese will be successful in his attempts, or will this rise of the machines-esque moment create chaos for everyone in New York? Sound off below! Also, click here to get further TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
