‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15 spoilers: More on Benson – William Lewis showdown
Are you ready for the Olivia Benson – William Lewis storyline to be over on “Law & Order: SVU”? We’re starting to feel like it should be. Pablo Schreiber has done a great job in the role, and we also love it when the show becomes more serialized; the problem is that this story can make the show feel more like a torture film than almost anything else.
Before we say anything further, we suggest taking a look at the official synopsis below to get a basic idea of what is going to be coming up April 9:
“The sadistic William Lewis (Schreiber) escapes from prison, arbitrarily killing as he goes. Concerned for Benson’s safety, a security detail is assigned to her 24/7, but it doesn’t take long for Lewis to get her back where he left off. With time running out, Benson must decide how much she’s willing to sacrifice in order to save the life of a child.”
This young child is going to be how Lewis works on sucking her back in, as he knows this is one way in which to ensure that she starts to press and focus in on her hunt for him. Given that we are near the end of the season, and we cannot see this continuing on into a season 16, we imagine this ending in one way or another soon. Who knows? Maybe finding a way for Mariska Hargitay’s character to solve this case may help her to figure out how is best to move forward with her own life.
What do you think is going to happen on this episode, and are you hoping to see the end for this storyline here? Sound off in the comments below.

Tonight’s episode of Law & Order SVU was probably the first episode in a few years where I didn’t wince at least once from the terrible writing that’s plagued the show, but dragging on this William Lewis story line is just unnecessarily horrifying. Yes, we love to see character development of the detectives, but the L&O episodes that are the most interesting have always been the ones that focus on the victim and their story and how the detectives and attorneys try to catch and prosecute the offenders. Schreiber is fantastic, but I’m so disappointed that the writers are going to that well again – it just seems lazy and gratuitous. I think I’m going to skip next week’s episode and trust that the writers will either kill off Benson or kill off William Lewis.

The best episodes of this season were with Lewis. Pablo is a great actor and Mariska is fabulous. I hope this time Olivia kill this psychopath. I’m excited to see this show. SVU is a decent drama.

This storyline shouldn’t have gone past the first episode. It’s become monotonous and a joke. And you know it’s bad when TPTB at SVU are continually making rape jokes and bullying the fans. Torture porn is what this is. The preview with Benson holding the gun to her head is completely unnecessary. This is no longer SVU, so hopefully it gets cancelled after this season.
