‘The Amazing Race 24’ episode 6 preview: Traffic jams of all kinds
“The Amazing Race” is in need of a knockout episode Sunday night. Its last installment was mostly boring, thanks solely to an attempt at a flight that ended up in disaster. We understand that these sort of things happen from time to time, but there are few events that can derail an episode of the show faster than a predictable outcome.
Luckily, Sunday night’s new episode seems to tease a situation that is going to be so much more interesting. As the new preview video below teases, there are going to be many situations where a number of teams are all jammed-up together. With there being no drama at an airport teased, we have to at least believe that the show is going in a much more competitive direction with all of the teams in contention. While Brendon & Rachel are starting the leg off now in last place, there could still be opportunities for them to catch up.
Some of the biggest obstacles that the teams run into include traffic jams, which seem to come in a variety of different forms. For a task, the pairs have to try to get gas at one of the most congested stations out there, and then there is just the mere nature of having to be driven through the insane streets of Sri Lanka. The home country of the Twinnies remains the setting for this episode, which is both good and bad. While it negates airport drama, isn’t it a little odd that the race has stayed in the same region for a good six episodes? We know that there are faraway destinations after this leg, but it is yet another telltale sign that the show is trying to save money by reducing travel costs.
