‘Big Brother Canada 2’ review: Can we try to play to win?
Wednesday night’s “Big Brother Canada 2” episode was so interesting to watch, mostly from the vantage point of seeing what was going on inside the heads of some of the players. Our feeling right now? it’s not much. Other than maybe Sarah and Neda, it’s really sad that at this point, there is no female player who we feel has a legitimate shot to win this game unless they are at the end against another terrible female player. Rachelle is a puppet, nobody respects Sabrina as a person, Ika is likely leaving, Allison probably won’t win just because of the twist, and Heather is seemingly useless as a strategic player in the game.
It was utterly sad to watch Rachelle tonight get completely and totally destroyed in the strategy department by someone who clearly has a much better understanding of how to play the game than her. Ika wasn’t a threat, and yet she is going out anyway. All Rachelle has done has kept herself safe until the jury. She’s not going to be in the final two, and she is not going to have Canada’s respect to go along with it.
While we don’t feel like Heather is trying to play the game, we did take some pleasure in watching her force Rachelle into being a walking hot dog this week. We knew that there was zero chance at all that Heather was going to keep that Veto necklace if she took it from Allison, so why not stick your mortal enemy with an embarrassing costume during her time as Head of Household? Very funny move.
It’s pretty clear that the First Five has this on lockdown, and that part of the game is ridiculously boring. But, we still were ridiculously entertained this time thanks to the return of Marsha the Moose, some fun editing, and also the characters. This is yet again a pretty good cast, and it was nice to see Talla again, even if she is a little more self-aware than she was the very first time she was in the game. Grade: B+.
