‘Downton Abbey’ season 5: Allen Leech’s funny philosophy with spoilers
To what extent are we talking about here? Basically, the man behind the Tom Branson character has found one of the perfect ways to ensure that anyone and everyone who asks him about what is coming up realizes that they are not going to get anything out of them. Just take a look at his response to a “what is coming up” question during a chat recently with the Irish Independent:
“Of course I can tell you everything that’s going to happen on series five of ‘Downton Abbey,’ but I’m going to have to shoot you directly after telling you.”
Funny stuff indeed, but the irony here is that Leech did go on to share a few more secrets. Does that mean that there was gunplay involved? Probably not; it was probably more of a kind gesture on the actor’s part rather than an Old West shootout better suited for a show like “Hell on Wheels”:
“Downton is always in a period of change so in season five, we are back dealing with what 1923/1924 is going to bring and seeing the house trying to battle against the modernization of society and how the class system is slowly deteriorating.”
These are very true words, and it is going to be interesting to see how the series handles these changes … especially if it lasts long enough to really see many of these estates go downhill.
