‘The X Factor’ notes: Alex & Sierra, Sam Bailey, and Simon Cowell

Alex & Sierra -

There is still very much going on in the world of “The X Factor,” and thanks to that, we have assembled a new collection of headlines for you to dive in and enjoy today … starting with the latest on the duo who recently emerged victorious from the American version of the competition.

Are you ready for an Alex & Sierra photoshoot? Let’s hope so, since the pair (otherwise known as Alex Kinsey and his girlfriend Sierra Deaton) recently took part in something that has them very excited. Why is that? Think of it mostly as something that really allowed them to show off their personality. The latest tweet from the act’s Twitter account is all of the proof you need:

“first photo shoot today! excited to finally have pictures we like and that feel like ‘us.’ not excited to be awake.”

So we suppose that this image is going to be in some way different, then, than the photo that we’ve used above for them for some time (which we rather like). Maybe it’s for their upcoming album … or at least we hope so. We know that they are working hard on it.

Sam Bailey’s revelation – While Sam may be enjoying the fruits of being the reigning champion on the show, she is admitting that the recent revelation of her pregnancy is something that had her terrified. Why? She explained to the Mirror that she was worried that her management wouldn’t quite understand or approve, and as it turns out, they were actually rather supportive:

“Everyone was like don’t worry about it, we can juggle things around. It’s not like ‘Oh Sam’s pregnant, that’s it, that’s your career over,’ which is what some people have said. You’d never say that to a guy would you?”

Simon’s comments – This is probably not the best story to put under the last one, but basically Cowell said recently in a Radio 4 interview that one of the reasons for the “X Factor’s” declining ratings in the UK is that the talent pool hasn’t quite been as great as it was when the show was a monster in 2010.

We understand that this was a great year … but we don’t fully buy what Simon is selling here. Why? It’s mostly because the ratings are down for all singing shows because some are getting tired of them.
