‘The Bachelor’: Sean Lowe gives one more thought on Juan Pablo Galavis’ season
Sean Lowe is not done speaking out about Juan Pablo Galavis’ season of “The Bachelor” … at least not yet.
During the “After the Final Rose” special that aired a little earlier on in the week, Sean was one of the “critics” of some of what Juan Pablo was trying to say pertaining to his desire to have a normal life. While Sean was not trying to be rude by any means, he was being blunt and honest when he reminded him that any hope that he had of a “private” life was taken away from him the moment that he signed on for the job. Ultimately, this is not the sort of gig that you choose to take on unless you really want to have a certain amount of publicity in your life. Even Juan Pablo’s continued presence on social media suggests that he does; he just wants it to be on his own terms rather than what producers want for him.
Sean clarified all of his feelings the day after the special aired in a series of posts on Twitter, making it clear that his disdain over the entire situation did not stem from Juan Pablo’s refusal to tell the woman he picked that he “loved” her on national TV:
“My take on last night: I commend JP on not proposing if he isn’t ready. And he certainly shouldn’t feel pressured to say ‘I love you’. Lastly, disrespecting the nicest guy in show business @chrisbharrison should be a crime. That’s my take. Wish them nothing but happiness. However, as the bachelor you can’t say I want to keep my feelings private. You owe it to the fans and network to open up. That’s the job.”
Sean is at least right in that ABC is paying you a pretty hefty chunk of cash in order to be on the show, and if you end up making it all the way to the altar, they’re even paying for your ceremony on national TV. (We don’t really think that Juan Pablo is going to be getting that now.)
