Oscars 2014: See Meryl Streep, more in Jimmy Kimmel’s post-Oscar preview

Sunday night, millions upon millions of Americans are going to be checking out ABC in order to check out all of the latest coverage when it comes to the Academy Awards, and for good reason. This is basically the biggest congregation of super-famous people of the year, and the most glamorous gala at all. It is a ceremony that thinks of itself so highly that there many of the genuine funny moments are few and far between.

Thankfully, this is where Jimmy Kimmel comes into play. Every year, the late-night host takes advantage of the opportunity have a post-show spectacular that is completely silly in every sense of the word, and often includes as many famous people as humanly possible shoved into one place. The latest trailer, for example, includes Meryl Streep and a certain Hemsworth brother that you will smile at the site of.

Sometimes, you get an idea as to what the theme of Kimmel’s post-Oscar sketch is in advance, but this time around, the comic and his show are being even more secretive than usual. In the end, though, he really has to hope this time around to be pulling out as many of the stops as possible, especially when you consider what he is up against. “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has dominated late-night TV by a pretty wide margin ever since it came on the air, and this is an opportunity for him to get a little bit of that audience back with the help of some famous friends.
