‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Andi Dorfman practically confirmed as 2014 star
Well, you can go ahead and stop the speculation about the next “Bachelorette” a little bit early (in case you hadn’t already figured it out): It’s going to be Andi Dorfman. She has already gotten the edit from the show’s producers and the support of many of them after the fact, and now most of the evidence has really been pieced together.
TMZ reported Thursday morning that Dorfman is going to be the star of the new season, and they cite a particular bit of evidence in it: The fact that she has taken a leave of absence from her job as an assistant district attorney, right in the middle of a murder trial. You don’t do that unless you really have somewhere else that you want to be.
While we’re not going to give you any spoilers on the contestants or the outcome of this season (mostly because we acknowledge that there are a few who like to remain spoiler-free along the way), this is the sort of thing that doesn’t really hurt anyone in advance. Plus, like we’ve said, it’s obvious that Andi has the gig down. Clare Crawley and Nikki Ferrell are not likable enough, they’re not going to feature two single parents in a row (sorry, Renee Oteri), and a Sharleen Joynt season would run the risk of her sending half of the guys home around night one, and her being unsure about the rest until right near the very end. She was just a slam dunk for casting, and the fact that she has a memorable family and a memorable job certainly helps her cause. This could get the show back on track after both a pretty weak “Bachelorette” season with Desiree Hartsock last summer, and also this disaster of a season with Juan Pablo Galavis.
Do you think Andi and her super-protective father will make for a good “Bachelorette” season, or are we in line for yet another disappointment?
