‘Supernatural’ season 9 spoilers: ‘Pretty Little Liars’ actor joins ‘Tribes’ spin-off pilot
Does “Supernatural: Tribes” have its next big character on board? It seems like it, at least so long as the show can do a good job entertaining to the point that it is picked up for series.
Sources confirm today that Sean Faris, an actor probably best known for his role as Gabriel on “Pretty Little Liars,” is going to be appearing on the upcoming April episode of The CW series as Justin Durant, a werewolf who is a member of a very powerful family who also happens to be at war with the Haydens, who also have a good portion of Chicago under their thumb. The difference? The latter family is a group of shapeshifters. (Nathaniel Buzolic of “The Vampire Diaries” will play David Hayden.)
All we really know about this pilot episode right now is that Sam and Dean, our fearless leaders from “Supernatural” proper, will come to the city for this episode and encounter this people along with Ennis Roth (Lucien Laviscount), the perceived main character from the series and a police officer who is thrust into this world.
The jury is still out about whether or not this spin-off will work, mostly because we feel like so much of the success for the original show has revolved around Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. These two guys have such a bond onscreen as the Winchesters, and they ground the world even when they are killing monsters, being sent to other worlds, or when other unknown things come into their lives. With a larger ensemble, there are so many things that can either go right and go wrong.
The CW will make their decision on this show come May at the upfront presentation … at the latest. It is possible that they could come up with what they are going to do before then.
