‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: Meghan Ory will return as Red this spring
While we pretty much knew that Meghan Ory was going to be returning to “Once Upon a Time” at some point this season, isn’t it nice to have something close to confirmation on the subject? We think so, which is why we are pleased to share just that.
In a post on Twitter, co-creator Adam Horowitz confirmed the glorious news that we’d be seeing some of Red / Ruby, and also hopefully an explanation as to why the character has been missing in action for so long. The last time that we saw her, Red was still in Storybrooke at the end of season 2. Ory originally left the show in order to firm “Intelligence,” but now that the CBS series is almost certain, her future is a little bit in question.
Is it possible that we could see more of Red next season, as well? It’s possible, but let’s not jump the gun on that. We’re sure that Ory will enter pilot season looking for a new project that she can at least put into second position to “Intelligence.” (TV jargon: “Second position” means that in the event that “Intelligence” is renewed, she would continue with the show rather than any pilot that she does. That’s why Damon Wayans Jr. was originally replaced on “New Girl” with Lamorne Morris.)
“Once Upon a Time” returns with new episodes on Sunday, March 9, and unless they filmed an Ory return in secret, we imagine that you’re going to be waiting until April or May to actually see the character in action again.
