NBC’s ‘The Voice’ drama: Did Cee Lo Green surprise executives with exit?
Of course, one day removed from Cee Lo Green announcing that he was going to be leaving “The Voice” after four seasons on the job, the fallout is starting to come out across the internet, with a few websites here and there trying to offer up explanations as to why everything went down the way that it did.
The new story that came out via The Wrap is especially interesting, since it said that Cee Lo’s decision to announce his exit on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” was a preemptive strike. He felt as though NBC and Mark Burnett were going to let him go anyway, and while they wanted to have a mutual statement made regarding his exit, he decided instead to go out on his own terms.
The report claims that part of the reason for the unrest here was the fallout from Cee Lo’s current court case, which NBC had previously stood behind him for while he was a part of this past season. Sources claim that the stress of the situation and its potential ramifications caused him more turmoil than he has shown in past seasons on the show.
The issue now is that there are a good for or five months to go between now and when the show shoots a potential seventh season, and there is a vacancy on the panel, providing that everyone else returns. It’s possible that you could just add in Usher or Shakira, but who knows if they want to do two seasons in a row?

Could it be, it’s because of his appearance at the Ellen degenerate show?
